Montauk boasts a striped bass season that rivals any, beginning in April, getting red hot during our spring run, continuing strong all summer long, and finishing with a knockout fall season that may extend into December when the herring arrive and the action is fast and furious again!

Montauk’s striped bass weigh in anywhere between 10 to over 50 pounds while most of them average between 15 to 30 pounds. The largest bass caught last year was a whopping 68 pound COW! Striped bass fishing in season is truly a one-of-a-kind experience and Susie E Charters can make it even more memorable. Our captain, crew and staff are dedicated to giving our customers the time of their life. Having a great day striper fishing is our goal by providing you the best available bait and using a variety of techniques to fit the season, tide and time of year, while also listening to the preferences of our customers.

Here are some of ways we catch Montauk’s monster stripers:

Trolling umbrella rigs, parachute jigs or snakes are some of the most consistent and reliable methods for catching striped bass. Many of the largest bass of the season are caught this way.

Live Bait is an incredible way to experience the Montauk Bass Run. On the Susie E we use a variety of live bait to hook that monster bass.

During porgy season, many customers enjoy the excitement of live bait fishing for stripers. On these tips, our fares catch their limit on porgies, we then live-line these fish for huge stripers.

Live eels are a Montauk standard. In summer, we run special sunset and night trips using live eels as bait in the deep water rips off Montauk Point. In the summer and fall, we often use live eels during the day and on full/new moon tides to land trophy sized fish.
